Stuff and Nonsense

Every now and again the abmh-x group have a 'Stuff' competition. A limited set of caps and images are posted and the members are challenged to create walls using them. Each wall is supposed to use at least two of the posted images in combination.

'Stuffing' is great fun - and has produced some stunning pieces of art.

Here are some of my contributions to the challenge.

Stuff One

Gabrielle contemplates the loss of her best friend.

Inspired by 'The Quest'

Lyrics by Athanasia Morgan

Later, journeying in India, our heroines share a mystical experience (or two)
While Ares ponders a age-old mythological problem ...

Stuff Two

The pictures for the second challenge were just as inspiring. They also encouraged me to experiment that little bit further.

That's Iolaus - right in the middle of things as usual.

Some more lovely lyrics by Chris de Burgh.

There are roughly five layers of flame used in this image.

'Mutual forgiveness of each vice
Such are the Gates of Paradise'

According to William Blake, anyway ...

An image partially inspired by the ruins of the Lion Gate at Mycenae

Stuff Three

An apt quote from

'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyes

And an even more appropriate quote from Wordsworth's 'Intimations of Immortality'

'Falling'

(No, I don't know what's going on here exactly, but there was this image of a falling Xena in the selection, and I used it!)

This is what happens when you let Joxer do the housework ...

One of the good things about 'stuffing' is that it encourages you to try out new approaches. This use of layered images turned out better than I expected.

Stuff Four

This selection of images were more challenging.

That sword was not at that angle when I started!

A heavily filtered landscape provides the background.

The same landscape that appears here.

I decided this had to be the opening teaser for a bizarre episode - perhaps the 'Xena in Wonderland' script ...

'Death is not necessarily a career ending move...'

Three of the people in this picture have personal experience of that!
